My wife and I purchased this 1986 beauty on February 16, 1998 from TURNER AUTO located in Victor, New York. The vehicle had only 17,000 miles at time of purchase and has approximatly 30,000 to date. One interesting detail about this car is that it was built as a Canadian export car. It was built on February 14, 1986 and shipped to GANANOQUE MOTORS LTD in Gananoque, Ontario. The dealership is still in business at the same location. From there it was shipped to TURNER AUTO, Victor New York. It was sold to one Charles Cadwell of Rochester, New York on February 18, 1987. In 1998 the car was obtained by Turner Motors from the estate of Mr Cadwell. My wife and I purchased it from them on February 16, 1998. Another interesting tidbit is that the month of February has been the date of purchase and build month.

The car was originally bought to compliment a 1973 Le Mans Blue coupe already parked in our garage. It wasn't until after we got it home, and I started to research it's history, that we decided to enter it in a few local shows. In 2001 we decided to enter it in the TOP VETTE CHALLENGE CUP. This is a two day event held at Sackets Harbor, New York. Over the two days the car is judged in CONCOURS and OPERATIONS. Concours deals with the appearance of the vehicle while operations covers the mechanical reliability of the cars.

On Saturday morning of the show a team of four judges converge on the cars and inspect the finish, interior, engine compartment, and undercarriage. To be eligible for certification a car must receive a total score of at least 95%. On Saturday afternoon all competitors take their machines on a 220 miles road tour. This helps determine if the cars are as "ROAD WORTHY" as they are "SHOW WORTHY". In order to advance on to the Challenge Cup Competition, a car must finish the trip without experiencing any mechanical difficulties.

On Sunday morning the cars are taken back to the judges and inspected for the Operations Certification. Nearly every area of the car is checked, for instance headlights, turn signals, taillights, radio, heater, A/C, windows, electric mirrors, fan, etc.. As in the concours judging the car must receive a score of 95%. Once a car has achieved a qualifing score in all three classes,it can move on into the Challange Cup competition. There it is judged against all the other cars in it's class, seperated by generations, and the over all winner is awarded the CHALLENGE CUP.

The car can not compete the following year after winning the cup, so in 2002 we are taking it to Bloomington Ill. and competing at BLOOMINGTON GOLD.
